Overview

JiYu is a K-beauty brand with the kind of customer every beauty marketer wants: socially native, highly opinionated, and already discovering new products through creators, routines, and community. That makes post-purchase monetization a tricky problem. Generic offers may fill slots, but they do very little for a customer who just bought a beauty product and expects the next recommendation to feel just as curated.

Garner was a great fit because it treated JiYu's post-purchase experience like a tailored beauty recommendation experience rather than an ad slot. The goal was not just to monetize thank-you-page traffic. It was to surface non-competitive products that felt genuinely useful to JiYu's shoppers, while turning the underlying signal into intelligence their team could use for Meta creative, influencer sourcing, and co-marketing off platform.

Challenge

Generic post-purchase ads feel like a money grab

Most post-purchase monetization tools solve for fill rate, not relevance. The result is the same handful of generic services - SiriusXM, AARP, HelloFresh - showing up after highly specific purchases. For a beauty brand, that feels especially disconnected. Those offers do nothing to acknowledge the customer's routine, goals, or product context, so they read as monetization first and value second.

Beauty relevance is harder than simple category matching

JiYu did not just need other beauty brands. They needed non-competitive products with real audience overlap - brands that made sense for the same shopper across both ecommerce and social. In K-beauty, performance is shaped as much by TikTok and Instagram behavior as by store data, which makes the sourcing problem much harder than just picking adjacent categories from a list.

The useful signal lives across stores and socials

To find the right advertisers manually, JiYu would have had to study cross-brand shopping behavior, track which creators were pushing which products, test dozens of partners, and then turn all of that into better Meta targeting and creative decisions. That is not a realistic workflow for a brand team trying to move quickly.

Solution

A Beauty Concierge™, not a generic ad slot

Garner approached JiYu's post-purchase experience as a Beauty Concierge™. Every offer had to clear three bars: it had to be non-competitive, hyper relevant to JiYu's customer, and feel like a genuine value add rather than a random ad. That shift in philosophy is what made the recommendations engaging enough to materially outperform generic post-purchase tools.

Shopping overlap surfaced the right advertisers

Garner's internal machine learning model automatically analyzes hundreds of thousands of beauty purchases every month to understand cross-brand shopping patterns across the network. That makes it possible to identify potential advertisers - both brands already on the network and off-network brands worth testing - by seeing where JiYu's customers already overlap with other beauty audiences and which products repeatedly show up in the same shopper journeys.

Social overlap turned virality into targeting intelligence

Garner also analyzed JiYu's top TikTok influencers and looked at where those viewers were consuming other UGC, which creators were reaching the same demographic, and what products those creators were pushing. In practice, that gave JiYu far more than better post-purchase recommendations. It gave them a map of high-overlap beauty niches, a list of more than 100 likely high-ROI influencers, and creative intelligence their Meta team could use to sharpen headlines, keywords, visuals, and targeting.

The network kept turning signal into action

As Garner tested dozens of advertisers across JiYu's post-purchase flow, the network learned what converted, what engaged, and what failed to resonate. Those learnings improved JiYu's Beauty Concierge™ yield over time, but they also unlocked introductions for brand partnerships and co-marketing opportunities when the data showed especially strong audience alignment. The post-purchase channel became both a revenue stream and a source of strategic growth intelligence.

Yield over time

Yield increased steadily as Garner refined JiYu's Beauty Concierge™ advertiser mix and learned which offers felt most relevant to JiYu's audience.

Results

The result was a post-purchase program that doubled Uptick's performance while feeling far more native to JiYu's audience. Recommendation engagement reached as high as 5%, and every click on a Beauty Concierge™ recommendation generated $18 of pure profit - a reflection of how much relevance matters in beauty.

Just as importantly, the work did not stop at on-site yield. Garner surfaced more than 100 likely high-ROI influencers, packaged ad creative intelligence JiYu could use in Meta, and highlighted brand relationships that were strong candidates for co-marketing on social. JiYu did not just get better monetization. They got a clearer picture of how their audience discovers products and which adjacent brands actually move them.
